How To Take Care Of Artificial Palms
Palm leaves can be damaged if left out in ice, snow
and frigid temperatures. It is
recommended to remove the palms (branches) before the winter months and store
them indoors.
Some of the artificial palm has a natural coco bark
for decoration. This can be sprayed with
a wood sealer such as Olympic Outdoor Wood Sealer, found at
Palms being used in extreme year round full sun exposure can also be damaged due to ultra violet rays. It is recommended to spray the palm trunk and branches with a vinyl or plastic conditioner called Armorall or 303. This will help keep the plastic from getting damaged. This product is used on boats, cars and outdoor play systems that have full sun exposure. It can be found at all stores in the auto section or at any hardware store.
MAINTENANCE
REQUIRED ON LARGE ROYAL & KING PALMS
Areas with high chlorine and salt conditions are highly corrosive to metal. All large palms supported with metal plates or metal pipes must be inspected yearly for rust.
Steel support systems holding up palms can fail causing Palm Trees to fall over causing damage or injury.
Steel
plate mounts or pipe mounts should be replaced every 5 years if these conditions
are present.
